Savory Garden Protein Bowl topped with fresh cilantro and green onions
Savory Garden Protein Bowl β€” fresh from the garden 🌿

🌿 Today’s Story

This morning I wanted to create a simple, high-protein breakfast using ingredients I already had at home, along with a few fresh herbs from our garden.

Originally, I made two versionsβ€”a sweet version and a savory version. The sweet version wasn’t for us, but the savory one turned out to be an instant favorite. We both loved it, and this is definitely a recipe we’ll be making again.

❀️ What We Thought

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We both loved the savory version.

The Thai chili or black pepper powder gave just the right amount of warmth, while the cumin added an earthy flavor that worked beautifully with the yogurt. The fresh cilantro, green onions, onion chives and moringa leaves made every bite taste bright and refreshing.

This breakfast was filling, creamy, and surprisingly satisfying.

🌱 Garden Notes

  • Fresh herbs can completely transform a simple breakfast.
  • This was our first breakfast featuring ingredients from the garden.
  • I can already imagine making different seasonal versions as the garden grows.

πŸ“ Kitchen Notes

This breakfast began as an experiment.

I also tried a sweet version using molasses, but it wasn’t for us. The savory version was the clear winner and will be our go-to recipe going forward.
